We also collect certain information automatically, including device type, operating system, and usage data through Firebase Analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App
• Calculate personalised nutrition goals using your health data (weight, height, age, activity level)
• Analyse food photos using AI (OpenAI GPT-4o) to identify nutritional content
• Process subscription payments via RevenueCat
• Send notifications related to your nutrition goals (with your permission)
• Improve the App through anonymised analytics
• Respond to your support requests

4. Food Photo Processing

When you photograph a meal, the image is sent to OpenAI's API for nutritional analysis. Images are processed in real time and are not stored by us or by OpenAI beyond the immediate request. We do not use your food photos to train AI models.

5. Health Data

The App collects health-related data including weight, height, age, and dietary goals. This data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore and is used solely to calculate your personalised nutrition targets. We do not sell or share your health data with third parties for advertising purposes.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database storage, and analytics
• OpenAI — AI-powered food photo analysis
• RevenueCat — Subscription and payment management
• Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In — Authentication

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@friendlycalories.com.
